“Cyprus gross to net salary table, 2026 tax year”, Cyprus Gross to Net, https://cyprusgrosstonet.com/ (updated 2026-08-15). Computed with the calculator on this page from published Republic of Cyprus rates for the 2026 tax year: income tax bands from the Tax Department's Tax Reform 2026 material; social insurance 8.8% on earnings up to maximum insurable earnings of €68,904 for monthly-paid employees; GHS 2.65% employee and 2.90% employer up to €180,000. Single employment, no personal deductions, no provident fund, 12 salaries a year. Figures rounded to whole euros.

What this is based on

  • Income tax uses the bands in force from the 2026 tax year: 0% to €22,000, 20% on €22,001–€32,000, 25% on €32,001–€42,000, 30% on €42,001–€72,000 and 35% above €72,000 (Cyprus Tax Department, Tax Reform 2026). Until the 2025 tax year the threshold was €19,500 and the top rate started at €60,001.
  • Employee social insurance is 8.8% of insurable earnings, matched by the employer, with the state adding 5.2% to make 22.8% in total (Business in Cyprus, Republic of Cyprus).
  • Insurable earnings are capped. For 2026 the Social Insurance Services set maximum insurable earnings at €1,325 a week, €5,742 a month and €68,904 a year for monthly-paid employees, applied until the end of 2026 (Social Insurance Services, Basic Insurable Earnings 1981-2026).
  • The General Healthcare System contribution is 2.65% for employees and 2.90% for employers, on earnings up to €180,000 a year (Social Insurance Services, Contributions).
  • Social insurance, GHS and provident fund contributions are deducted before income tax, and the combined deduction for contributions to funds and schemes, GHS and insurance premiums is limited to one fifth of income, the limit applied in the Tax Department's own 2026 employer withholding tool (form T.D.59).
  • The calculator assumes a single employment with no other income, no personal deductions for children, rent, mortgage interest or the green transition, and no exemption for first employment in Cyprus. Each of those reduces tax further and is claimed on form T.D.59 or the annual return.
  • Employer cost excludes the Central Holiday Fund contribution, because employers who provide annual leave directly may obtain an exemption from it. If you do not hold an exemption, add it on top.

The questions we get

How do I calculate net salary in Cyprus?

Take gross pay, deduct 8.8% social insurance on earnings up to €68,904 and 2.65% GHS on earnings up to €180,000, then apply the income tax bands to what is left: nothing to €22,000, 20% to €32,000, 25% to €42,000, 30% to €72,000 and 35% above that. On €40,000 gross that leaves €32,565.

What is the tax-free amount in Cyprus in 2026?

€22,000 of taxable income, raised from €19,500 by the reform that applies from the 2026 tax year. Because social insurance and GHS come off before the bands are applied, a gross salary somewhat above €22,000 can still produce no income tax.

What deductions come out of a Cyprus payslip?

Three as standard: social insurance at 8.8%, the GHS contribution at 2.65%, and PAYE income tax. A provident fund contribution is added where the employer runs a scheme. Redundancy, training and social cohesion contributions are paid by the employer only.

Is Cyprus social insurance capped?

Yes. Insurable earnings for 2026 are capped at €1,325 a week, €5,742 a month and €68,904 a year for monthly-paid employees, so the employee contribution stops at about €6,064 a year however high the salary.

Does the calculator include the 13th salary?

It works from gross annual pay, so a 13th salary is already inside the annual figure. Use the toggle to divide the net result by 13 rather than 12 if your contract pays that way.

Why is my actual net pay different from this figure?

Most often because of a personal deduction claimed on form T.D.59, a provident fund, relief for first employment in Cyprus, or income from another source. This calculator assumes a single employment and no personal deductions, which is the conservative case.
